asked on How do I unlock root login locked out by pam_tally?
Am running RHEL4 on Dell PowerEdge servers 2850, 2950 & 6850.
Want to initiate the use of pam_tally to protect these systems from potential crackers attempting to find a password. My concern is that this could lead to the root user being locked out just as any other user might be. Is there a way to prevent this from happening or if it does happen, how would I unlock root?
