How to Block the FROM field Active Directory properties for users in Outlook

We would like to start keeping more information for our users within Active Directory. However, when a user receives Mail, they can click on the name of the sender and get all of the AD properties for that user, group membership phone numbers etc. Is it possible to limit what AD propeties they see, or block all together from this location?

Hi,
  • Go to properties on GAL
  • Open security tab.
  • Deny Read Properties permission to everyone or maybe Domain Users\
I think this was the way....it has been a long long time...
Thanks

I still want users to see the GAL, just not be able to see the properties of users within the GAL once the double click the user or right click and go to properties.
Id like to deny that piece, but still allow them to select a mail recipient from the GAL.

I think yes, this way you are just disabling the "Read Properties" and not Hiding ID from GAL.
I will test once, its been a long time since needed to do sth like this.
