Looking for hardware VPN with better throughput then Cisco VPN 3002

We currently use a Cisco VPN 3002 to connect to our hosted environment. We do this because our main site does not have a publicly accessible IP address that we can allow unsolicited inbound access. We set up the VPN 3002 which acts as a VPN client and initiates the connection outbound to a PIX firewall at hosted site. Our hosted site has route statements that rout the traffic back. This effectivly allows us to establish a site to site tunnel. The only limitation being the 2.2 mbps throughput of the VPN 3002 device.

Are there any other devices that can function in this VPN client manner with a faster throughput speed?

The Cisco ASA 5500 series have throughput starting at about 150 Mbps You can use the ASA 5505 to act as a client just the same.

bkepford,

Do you know of any references that describe the configuration of the 5500 as a client using IPSec over TCP?
Here is the link that I use for example configurations. It has some great information.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk583/tk372/tech_configuration_examples_list.html

Here is another link that is actually on the above link but if you look half way down the page you will see some screen shots and in those screen shots you see the check box for IPsec over TCP in the IKE Global parameters.
