paaack--What do you see when you open this folder?  Favorites as icons or a list of clickable URL's (web addresses)?
In the latter case is the "folder" an htm file?  If so you have already done part of the job.
Here are full instructions from MS  (ignore the issue of 16-bit and 32-bit).
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/211089
If the folder contains Favorites as icons,
1) Open the Favorites folder on your PC.
2) Open the "Favorites" folder on your Desktop.
3) Select all items in the "Favorites" folder on the desktop("Edit" - "Select All").
4) Right-click on one of the selected files and hold the mouse button down.
5) Move your mouse to the computer's Favorites folder and release the right mouse button.
6) Select "Copy here". During copying you may be prompted to replace files if they already exist on the computer.
