Try disabling the MPPC compression on the client-side, but I'm not sure if they fixed it since the problem surfaced in SP3 RC1. In RC1, MPPC would stay on even if you disabled it. If it still doesn't work, try reinstalling XP SP2.

To disable the MPPC compression, make sure the box labeled &quot;Enable software compression&quot; is not checked in the PPTP settings (this is the setting that stayed enabled even if unchecked in SP3 RC1).
