Business Objects XI - The request could not be submitted for background processing

I have a report that passes Login Name to the Subreport. The subreport has Login a one of the parameters. When I post the Subreport to BOE web, it runs fine without any error. When I post the Main report [that has subreport] to the BOE Web, it gives the error below -

Error in File ~tmp138854ce8c55ce0.rpt: The request could not be submitted for background processing.

Can someone please help me how to trouble shoot this error? Thanks

Thanks I already checked that link out. I am not sure if it will solve the issue because we are not trying to  print the subreport. I am trying to run a report that has  a subreport. If I run the subreport by itself, it works fine. Do you have any other suggestions?

Not really.

Have you searched EE for "background Processing Crystal"
There have been several questions asked.

when you run this report locally what happens?

I am thinking there maybe a missing link or something like that between the main and sub. Also, are you joining the main to the sub or is it independent of one another.

When I run locally it run fine. I am passing Login Name from Main report to the Subreport. In the subreport, Login is one of the 4 parameters. I have recreated the reports and tried it but it is the same error that I am getting. Should I look into something else? Please let me know. Thanks

Umm.. within the CMC you will want to verify that the database connections are set up with all the right information (username and password)... next check to make sure that the parameters section is empty. The user should populate them.  Are you using CurrentCEUserName to pass in the user name to the subreport?

All the DB Connections are setup properly b/c if I just run the subreport, it runs fine without this error. Also, I am entering all the parametres. Yes, I am passing CurrentCEUserName from BOE login to subreport.

Can you post the record selection for the subreport? I just did a mock up using the CurrentCEUsername and by itself you cant pass it to the sub because it is a report property. You need to put it into a formula and then join the formula with the subreport parameter.

ASKER

{Test;1.cmpcompanyname} = {?Company} and
{Test;1.LocDesc} = {?Location} and
{?@Login} = CurrentCEUserName

Then in the main report I created a formula - Login = CurrentCEUSerName and passed it as a link to the Subreport. This works for my other reports just fine.

Crystal Reports
Crystal Reports

Crystal Reports is a business intelligence application from SAP SE. It is used to graphically design data connections and report layouts from a wide range of data sources including Excel spreadsheets, Oracle, SQL Server databases and Access databases, BusinessObjects Enterprise business views, and local file-system information. Report designers can place fields from these sources on the report design surface, and can also deploy them in custom formulas (using either BASIC or Crystal's own syntax), which are then placed on the design surface. Crystal Reports also supports subreports, graphing, and a limited amount of GIS functionality.
