will access 97 run on windows xp sp2 ?

We have a custom application programmed in Access 97. Of course the programmer is long gone and we've been using the program without any issues. We are replacing our computers with Windows XP units and need to know if our Access program will run with Windows XP Pro SP2

Actually, it is a hit or miss situation with XP SP2. With XP SP1, there is no problem at all. However, when SP2 was rolled out, a key dll, namely COMDLG32.dll, was changed. Depending on the system and the version of this dll, it may or may not work.

good luck
