Exchange forward email to external user security risk

We have a user with a blackberry. We do not allow IMAP/POP3 in our environment to our exchange server.

I was thinking, if I forward emails from exchange to the user's personal email, then they can receive email that way.

What is the security risk involved? I understand that it would forward clear text, and that the vulnerability could lie in if the emplyoee's personal email was hacked, but what else?

The only issues are the fact that the mail could be intercepted en route to the person's personal mailbox server, and that the mail server itself could become compromised and allow mail to be exposed. If the emails they are receiving are just standard office-type mail, meetins (nothing highly confidential, payroll, staff information, etc.) and your company doesn't have a problem with this happening, then the risk is reasonably low.

hello

so how could the interception occur? are you saying that the personal inbox could be hacked and then accessed the business mail? but in that case, that's like losing your blackberry, right?
