Hi Ladies and Gents,
I have a new toy being delivered Monday to take over from our 5 home-made servers (work-stations pretending to be servers).
I will be loading Server 2008 x64 Enterprise on the 100GB mirrored drives. The other 7 TB drives I am thinking Raid6 with 1 drive as a hot swap, not sure yet. I will then load a hyper-v server (prob 2003) with Exchange 2007, another hyper-v with SQL2005, another hyper-v with staff roaming profiles and home directories, and finally another hyper-v with assorted files and apps, mostly storage for IT installs and documentation. I want this baby to be as fast as possible for our staff.
I will be teaming the nic ports to a gig managed switch and teaming 2 gig ports from the switch to our backup server
If you would, please give me your thoughts, ideas or problems you think I may encounter. Thanks very much.
