What is your virtual disk type? &nbsp;Growable or preallocated? &nbsp;If it's growable, then the actual disk file will only be as big as it needs to be, but your OS will think it has 48Gb and the virtual disk file will grow as needed.<br />
<br />
If you want to change the type to preallocated, then you'll have to also use the paramter:<br />
<br />
&nbsp; &nbsp;-t 1<br />
<br />
which changes the type to a preallocated disk, but splits the virtual disk file into multiple 2Gb files (I suggest you do this otherwise you'll hit problems if you ever have to move the file with a single 48Gb)<br />

According to the output, the expansion DID work. But: The Windows partition ON the virtual disk is still the same size as before, so you don't see the new size if you just look at the size of the system partition.<br />
<br />
Look in Computer Management &gt;&nbsp;Disk Management, you should see additional free space after the current partition. You have to expand the partition to match the physical size, or add a second partition, to use the space.

Now when the expansion concludes the size does not really gets increased to 48G.<br />

Hi All:
