Deploy MS Project 2007

I am trying to create a package for ms Project 2007. I am following the procedure from here but hitting a hurdle of it not correctly reading the .msp file  i think. This link is what I am using for reference my packagiing skills with .msi are average at best http://www.appdeploy.com/packages/detail.asp?id=930

I am not sure if I understood your question correctly. Give a try at http://www.aspfree.com/c/a/BrainDump/Codes-and-Packages-in-Microsoft-Project-2007/3/

Thanks,

ASKER

currently i run follow the steps in the link i sent. i run the setup.exe /admin and create a Patch.msp file and then save ii into the updates folder and call it patch.msp
then i try and run the file by setup.exe /quiet /norestart or differnet variation but I end up getting the pop up screen saying Install now or customise. So it does not appear to be reading the Patch.msp file

Another variation of the install command has been setup.exe /adminfile /updates/Patch.msp /quiet /norestart

I could be missing a section? for my initial testing I am running this by mapping a drive and then later once i know it is working i would import it into our altiris notificaion server

I suggest that you start with reading the original Microsoft documentation at http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc178962(TechNet.10).aspx - there you will find full description of the process.

Installation

Installation is the act of making a computer program program ready for execution. Because the process varies programs often come with a specialized program responsible for doing whatever is needed for their installation. Installation may be part of a larger software deployment process. Cross platform installer builders that produce installers for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux include InstallAnywhere, InstallBuilder and Install4J. Installers for Microsoft Windows include Windows Installer, InstallShield, and Wise Installation Studio; free installer-authoring tools include NSIS, IzPack, Clickteam, InnoSetup, InstallSimple and WiX. Mac OS X includes Installer, and also includes a separate software updating application.
