For outgoing messages you can create a contact in AD for the external user. You will need adsiedit for this.<br />
Add the PF distinguished name (assuming the PF is mail enabled) as alternate recipient (altRecipient field within adsiedit console) for the contact.<br />

For incoming message I know no solution that can be implemented directly in Exchange. You will need a different tool.

We are running exchange 2003 SP2 with +/- 25 users and having the following problem:<br />

If an email is send from internal to external1@domain.com the message should be copied to a Public folder. Also when external1@domain.com sends an email back to a internal address(new or reply) it should be copied to a Public folder. <br />

I tried to use mail enabled public folders but users have to add an internal email adress to the cc manually because external1@domain.com for example is an hotmail address. I also tried to make server side rules but dont want to this manually for every client. It has to be done at server level.<br />

I have found software called mapilab to do this but first want to make sure that this isn't possible in exchange. <br />
