apache serving old files not new index.html

Hi,

I have installed apache2 on linux.
Everything is working fine, then I replaced index.html file with new index.html
file.
when I goto http://mysite.com/index.html I see the new file contents but when I goto
http://mysite.com, I get old index.html contents.

This was happening for a day. But after that it healed itself? Now when I goto http://mysite.com,
I get the new index.html
I cleared my history regularly between requests.

Wondering why this happens? I am assuming I need to change some settings in apache

Thanks,

ASKER

Hi,

Thanks for your useful suggestion.
But I was repeatedly clearing my [cache/cookies/offline data]

I was thinking more about apache2 cache-control,
if something like this exists.

Thanks,
