I can't open an Outlook Data file.

I just installled Outlook in my Compaq running Vista.  I have a a pst file from another machine that was running XP that will not open for me.  I go to Open Data File and nothing happens (literally).  I tried to open it from it's file and it give me the following error: "The command line argument is not valid. Verify the switch you are using."

Hello mckenziepug,

Make sure the file is not write protected.  Right click on the file and select Properties.  Make sure "Read-Only" is not selected.

Verify that the file was copied correctly.  Was Outlook closed when you copy the PST file?

Hope this helps!

war1:
Thanks for the tip.  The file is not write protected and it was copied correctly.  Outlook was not installed on this computer when I copied the file over.

Thanks again,
Mckenziepug
Hmmmm... neither of those worked.  I did the recovery and have a new pst file as a result, but Outlook still does nothing when I go to 'open data.'  Any clues?  Thanks!
