Sporadic Printing Problem

I am having problems with a couple USB printers (Dell 1720dn).  I am using Windows XP Pro SP3.  Also, my company uses a citrix web application named "Latitude Hosted".  Basically when I want to print something, one of the following happens:
1. the printer acts like its warming up (i see the toner level window pop up, but it says the printer is offline, then the printer pauses for about 10 seconds, then starts up again, the printer prints a page with random characters on it, then continues to print the entire document fine
2. The printer doesn't print anything and shows as offline.
3. The printer prints fine with no problems, and immediately.

I looked over the event viewer and noticed the following error:
-----------

I went to the print processor, noticed a few drivers, tried all of them, same problems.

Any suggestions?

Is that everytime you print by using the Crystal Reports the problems only assist ?? if you print using the PDF or any word documents, is it fine with that ??

No, same issue regardless of where I print from.  But it seems as if something running in the background, conflicts with the printer driver/printer spool service...

It's a very strange problem.  I ended up plugging the printer in with a network cable as opposed to USB and now it works with no problems.

Thanks,

Thanks for your help, I just started using the network connection from the printer and haven't had any problems since.

A printer is a peripheral which makes a persistent human readable representation of graphics or text on paper or similar physical media. Traditional printers are being used more for special purposes, like printing photographs or artwork, and are no longer a must-have peripheral; 3D printing has become an area of intense interest, allowing the creation of physical objects. An image scanner is a device that optically scans images, printed text, handwriting, or an object, and converts it to a digital image. Hand-held scanners, where the device is moved by hand, have evolved from text scanning "wands" to 3D scanners used for industrial design, reverse engineering, test and measurement, orthotics, gaming and other applications.
