pass word retrieval on a DSL-320T.

Hi

Can someone please help. I have a DSL-320T router at one of my branches. I am the administrator and i am embarresed to say that i have lot the password and cant for the life of me remember it. Default is admin, admin but tried that and i must have supplied a password. This was about a year ago. Now i really have to log on. If i cant ill have to travel and reset the router so no real worries but it will save the trip.

Is there any way of getting that password. Proberley not. Just to clarify this is the password to log onto the router so not the ISP passwords. From what i have read the username is admin and cant be changed.

Please can someone help.

You can download programs such as Brutus to run a dictionary or brute force attack on the router. It may uncover the password if it is short enough and not very complex.

Otherwise, simply resetting the router to default is the way to go.

Some other default passwords:

Admin / Admin
Administrator / Administrator
Administrator / password
administrator / password
admin / password
admin / admin

Just throwing these out there for ya.

Hi Thx for sugestions. Passwords dont work but thanks. Where can i download brutis. did a google search and hoobie.net does not respond and some others have said it must be removed

Hi there,

Thanks for all your help sp far. im going into work shortly to download this. I have today to try this. i appreciate it may take some time for you to get the dictionary but would you mind getting for me. I just want to make sure i have all the right stuff before i attempt this. I will however do a search on google too.

Hi there.

i found an advanced dictionary for business passwords but saying it can take 3 weeks. Its running through passwords now. Is this right?

Hi There,

Thanks for your help. I ended up going and replacing the router which was a good thing and i fixed other issues too. Well i am keen try this on my gear here as it can show any passwords that need to be better.
