Yes, what you were doing was changing the properties of the form itself, inside the subform object.<br />
So Lenny is correct in that it is the &quot;Subform's&quot; property you shold have been changing.<br />

I know it is confusing, but there is a difference.<br />
<br />
If you open your main form in design view and *CLICK ONCE* on the subform, you will have selected the &quot;subform Object&quot;. If you immediately bring up the Properties box, it will say &quot;SubForm SubReport&quot;.<br />
This is where you set the Flat or sunken property.<br />
If you click a second time, you will select the form itself inside the Subform Object. <br />
