DateAdd returns different date from sql 2000 and vb6

In sq 2000, select dateadd("d",39495,0)  returns 2008-02-19.
In vb6, from the immediate window, ? dateadd("d",39495,0) shows a value of  2/17/2008.

The difference is 2 days, can someone explain what I am not understanding here.  Running windows xp.

thanks

I suspect you are refering to Sybase instead of IBM.  To my knowledge IBM was never involved in SQL Server.
indeed... as they work very close together, I confuse the 2  :(
