if the images are very important, you can copy them from your word document and can save them in a separate folder on your hard drive.

Somehow the images are being saved as links and not as independent images. &nbsp;I have LOTS of memory on my PC and some of the images I copied from other sites have remained intact with no red &quot;X&quot;

have you tried copied the same images in another machine to check whether they are being copied fine there?

I rebooted and only opened one application. &nbsp;I still get red x in the documents, so it's not a memory issue.
