BTTray is one of the Bluetooth application, try to uninstall and install again.

I don't have anything to remove as this apparently was installed as a part of another program install but I don't know which one.

Most likely it would have been part of an installation package from cell phone/pda software, or if you have a bluetooth dongle installed on your pc.... or if this system is a laptop, it may have bluetooth built in and something may be amiss there.

The link you provided is not working for me.  When I go out to the site it asks to agree and I do then it closes the window, so I can not find out if your solution works.

If you are not using anything bluetooth with this computer, you can always run msconfig and disable it from starting and that should get rid of the message...

Under the service tab, uncheck the bluetooth service
Under the Startup tab, uncheck bluetooth

Or you could try installing this bluetooth software, and keep it on if you want it or then uninstall it if unneeded and hopefully it will clean the problem up from what was a hosed uninstall of the old software.

Ok... I had already typed most of the following when I thought of this...
If you click on Start----> Settings -----> Control Panel----> Add Or Remove Programs, do you see any programs listed that have the bluetooth icon?  it looks like this:
https://www.audiologyonline.com/management/uploads/articles/beck_shape.jpg
It may not have the symbol with it, but please look through the list closely for anything that says bluetooth...

Looks like we are going to need some more info from you to get this narrowed down a bit...
Do you know the model number and manufacturer of your computers motherboard?
Are there any other addon cards, or other devices (usb dongle) connected to your computer?
Do you now, or did you at any time have any bluetooth devices connected to your computer?
If you are not sure, then in general have you had any wireless devices connected? (mouse, headphones, keyboard, pda, cell phone)

If you click on Start----> Settings -----> Control Panel, do you see a bluetooth icon?  it looks like this:
https://www.audiologyonline.com/management/uploads/articles/beck_shape.jpg
It should say Bluetooth Configuration underneath it... If you do, double click it, and see if there is anything that gives a clue as to what type of device was being used such as iogear or others...

If you dont have that icon, or if it wont open, try this...
Right click on My Computer---> Left click Manage ----> Left click Device Manager
Do you see any devices that show a big question mark, exclamation point, or big red X either on or next to it?

Do you see Bluetooth devices in the list?

If so, does it show what if any devices are attached?  Does this have an X, ! , or ? next to it?

And actually before we dive too much further into this... Do you need or plan to use any bluetooth devices with this computer?  The reason I ask, is if your not using/planning to use bluetooth, why not just stop it in msconfig?
Even if your planning to use a bluetooth device, it should come with software that will likely reinstall everything needed.

Device manager has no problems.

I have two blue tooth devices keyboard and mouse

I can not disable bluetooth because I do have devices

I have an ECSKN3SLI2 Motherboard.

Do you still have the install/driver disks for those devices... if you do, try uninstalling and then reinstalling them and the software that came with them.
Of course you may want to have a standard mouse and keyboard on-hand or the reinstall may be a bit difficult : )

I did this and it failed.

By the way the warning on a standard mouse/keyboard is critical.

Ok... last thing I can think of... this is the same software that I use, try installing it and see what happens
