A minor change such as Murph noted might be a good choice. Third-party products such as Gary noted can also work when a need comes up multiple times.<br />

One _potential_ change might be to wrap the program call inside of an OPNQRYF wrapper. If the program cannot or should not be changed, then it might be possible to restrict the program so that it only accesses sets of records that belong in a single spooled file. This could be possible without changing anything in the existing program if you're lucky.<br />

We both know that, in these days that nono's are IM managers and only speak VB, almost nobody will spend money to this kind of Third-party products, the standard answer is often (at school we did it with crystalreport :( )<br />

For a couple of grand you can purchase a product like SpoolFlex by DRV Technologies that will let you split existing spooled files a lot of different ways without making any changes to your Programs.<br />
(you can also direct the new output to be a spooled files, or PDF or CSV or Excel)<br />
<br />
It is much cheaper to purchase a product for something like this then it is to spend time on programming it and then modifying it and supporting it etc. etc. <br />
<br />
A lot of companies go the route of not re-inventing the wheel and purchase utilities that can be used over and over for various bigger more important projects.<br />

How to split spool files
