Strange temps!!

Hi! I received this result in Speedfan and I am a bit confused of these 81C which I see! Can you tell me what might be the problem? I will appreciate if you give me some link to "help" section or "how to use" manual of Speedfan cause I have no Idea of the temps shown there to which component they respond! Thank you!!

Use SIW to check temps and determine which is which.
http://www.gtopala.com/

I suspect high temp is GPU (video card).

it is impossible to be video card as under full load VGA is 65-67C because under it is Zalman VF1000 and all the rams are with heat sinks and over it on the back of the chip is 40mm blue Ice with cooler and fan! idel temp of vga is 39-42C

That is a motherboard sensor. Possibly northbridge chip. Cannot tell for certain.

what can i do from now on? some solution! ??? If you need some more info , I will post!!

It could be an anomaly, although 2 different monitors agreeing lessens that probability.

Check BIOS temperature readings for verification.

Asus normally has monitoring software included on motherboard CD. You should install that also if available.

I am with Gigabyte , and didnt find any temp  monitor in the site , I read only somewhere that easy tune could be used for it! I installed Hwmonitor and it ran normally only once and showed also 81C , on next reboot it only showed me the hdd temps, without any MB C . I am not in forn of my PC now , I am working but  I am conected on remote , so I cant see the temp at the moment but Last night I dont remember to have seen such high temp. Mainly my case is blowing in with one 80mm and one 120mm fans and separately has a hole with filter where the floppy should be, I clean the dust 1 time per month and on the backpanel I have more 1 120mm and 1 92mm fans blowing out. Cpu cooler at this moment is Akasa 876 through the rest time I am with Xigmatek 1283HDT.

I think it is the last one because when I go to advanced settings in speedfan and toggle thermistor to diode the temp becomes -72C !!! So I will try  to search for a hot place in my mobo , bu think it will be enough to turn off the monitor from this sensor. On my work PC I installed SIW and it shows me 25C , so it is nothing I can feel.

new moment , when I turn 3d view in Ati Tool to see the temps, this sensor increases to 82-83 but not more! so it is not dead end but might be wrong reading!!any suggestion , from where I can get info which this sensor is???

if it is in ATI tolls, then it is your video card !
check that the fan is running properly

Just as willcomp said...
>>> I suspect high temp is GPU (video card). <<<

... to which you told him he didn't know what he was talking about.

Just to tell if somebody has idea! The sensor is from the mosfets next to CPU and they are hot , but I think this is still too much (81C) it is either wrong read temps or smth. not fine with my MB. Now I am going to buy cooler for them so will see result! It is so important for me cause these days I am going to put  Phenom 9600 in action instead of mine 5600+ so I need to know about these temps, since my MB is not FX and will become hotter! :)

If bad temp is on the video card and you switch video cards you will switch video card heat sensor too.
-
You can temp install some other video card to see if condition with that high temp changes.

I have Ati tools  , Easy Tune , CCC and all they show me my VGA is 67-68 C even under full load! This sensor is from the mosfets! I just want to understand whether is fault reading or real temp. It is not dead because when I load the system with some heavy application , it goes 1 or 2 C up! I am going to buy anyway mosfet cooler from Thermalright and will see the temps again , but it is not normal the temp to be so high on Athlon x2 (81C)
BTW after some changes in my case now the temp is 79 instead of 81C idle!

You are bordering on silly caring about 2 or 3 degrees.

The accuracy of temp sensor chips is something like +/- 5 degrees.

Small change like that may be that the room you are in happened to be a few degrees cooler when you looked.

.

It's common for MOSFETs to overheat then the motherboard or PSU (or both) have crappy capacitors that allow switching noise from the PSU to get to their inputs. It causes the MOSFETs to work harder trying to output a stable clean voltage.

[Before someone asks] You can not see this problem with any on-board voltage monitor or even a multimeter. The fluctuations are too fast for those methods to 'see' (detect). You would need an O'scope to measure or even detect it.

I am now With Corsair 520HX PSU , and think it is pretty good  , but I also have a Fortron 400W GLN60 Active , and I am ready to try with it! will there be a change??
Avatar of PCBONEZ

Those are both usually great PSU's.
If dirty power from the PSU was the problem then either of those should fix it.
[Pay attention and read the labels. The 400 watt may not have enough amps on +12v for all that video card.]

MOSFETs with marginal capacitors on the motherboard can also cause heat problems however your board seems to have all poly caps so I wouldn't suspect that unless they are under-rated for the application.

What case and CPU cooler do you have? How is rear exhaust configured (fan size, any obstructions)?

Normal cooling for Voltage regulation (includes MOSFETs) is via CPU cooler flow and rear exhaust fan.
Avatar of PCBONEZ

GOOD POINT willcomp!

A fancy after market cooler (especially a heat pipe or water cooler) may not have proper provisions for creating air flow near the MOSFETs.

On the rear side I have one 120mm fan and a 92 mm led fan , my cpu cooler at this moment temporary is Akasa 876 , mainly I am with Xigmatek1283HDT!
About the PSUs : Before taking the Corsair , I was with the Fortron and had no problems! :)
BTW thank you for the efforts to help in  this strange situation! :)

Thank you , anyway! I will buy the cooler cause Phenom is higher temps than Athlon for the mosfets!! thanks to alll! I will leave the question open 3-4 days more to write you down the result with the cooler and then the result with the phenome and the cooler! :)

Accepted Solution has NOTHING to do with the question.

Asker needs an upgrade in EE Etiquette.
I was rather confused where I participated other than to say "close the question". Though I have a feeling the question was abandoned and they randomly picked. The asker has poor etiquette all around.

These are the answers I'd recommend:
