Technically, there should be no issues; I've upgraded several W2k3 installations to R2 without any problems.<br />
But as always, the usual precautions apply.<br />

Just come across this thread...but would like to make a comment.<br />

Microsoft do not charge any license upgrade from Win2k3 to Win2k3 R2. There is no additional cost. If you do not have the media CD for Win2k3R2, all you have to do is call Microsoft and they will send you the CDs(media kit) for only $23.<br />
As long as you have the vaild license key for your Win2k3, there should not be a problem. You just need to run setup from the second CD to do the upgrade.
