email Alias setup in Exchange

I am setting up user names in SBS 2003.  Currently all of the company email addresses are first initial (dot) last name@company.com.  Some users had alias names so that they could use their email names with or without the dot between the first initial and last name.  How do I setup the users so they can use both formats in exchange.

When I do that, I get a selection of about 7 choices for a type of address.  Which one  do I choose?

So now if someone sends to tom.clancy@domain.com or hotboy@domain.com since they are associated with the same user account in AD you can send to either one and that user will receive the e-mail.

When I do that I now have 3 SMPT entries.
1. SMTP    F.Lname@company.com
2. smtp     F.Lname@company????.local
2. smtp     FLname@company.com

Do I need to add another local one?
