Could be that it's timing out on the network connection. Try unplugging the network connection before you shutdown. The laptop is probably trying to synchronize your profile with the server and when it can't find it it hangs. If this doesn't work it may be a profile specific problem. You can determine this by logging on using a different user account and see if you then experience the same problems.

I already changed the registry settings for stopping applications and services.<br />

I installed UPHclean application but the saving your settings is taking 2 minutes.<br />

The laptop is a part of the domain and not in the workgroup.<br />
