Exchange 2007 Hub Transport uninstall fails

We have two sites, one existing site has SBS 2003 running and the other is a new remote site. The new site is running Server 2008 with Exchange 2007. I've run the PrepareAD commands and let replication occur so all looks to be ok however I get the following error:

Property IsHubTransportServer cannot be set on this object because it requires the object to have version 0.1 (8.0.535.0) or later. Current version of the object is 0.0 (6.5.6500.0).

And the install then fails. Any ideas?

Ok manually entered the version number in via ADSI edit and the uninstall started but stops on the hub transport role reporting:

This operation could not be performed because object 'servername' could not be found on domain controller 'fqdn etc'

Please any help greatly appreciated as I may be making things worse :)
