Do you use WINS on your network? Have you added the IP of the WINS server to the &quot;WINS&quot; tab of the Advanced TCP/IP properties in the 2008 Server?<br />

I setup an Exchange/file server running Windows Server 2008 x64. Windows XP users can access the server through \\SERVERNAME, but it doesn't show up in My Network Places. From the 2008 server, I can't browse the rest of the network; it only sees itself. I started the following services, but it didn't help:<br />
Computer Browser<br />
SSDP Discovery<br />
UPnP Device Host<br />
Network Discovery is On. No relevant errors in event viewer.<br />
IPv4 DNS points to the same DCs as the other systems. The server is not a domain controller, but it's running a Windows 2003 DC under Hyper V. The 2nd NIC is setup is a virtual switch for Hyper V.<br />
