Office Updates fail, no reason given

I'm at wit's end here...

I have MS Office Pro 2003 and Expression 2007. When I try to install the following updates, they fail with no reason or error code given:
Update for Outlook 2003 (KB943649)
Security Update for Office 2003 (KB945185)
Update for Office 2003 (KB907417)
Security Update for Microsoft Works Suite 2005 (KB943973)
Security Update for Microsoft Office 2003 (KB947355)
Security Update for Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 (KB945432)
Security Update for Microsoft Office Excel 2003 (KB943985) v2
Security Update for Microsoft Office Publisher 2003 (KB950213)
Security Update for Microsoft Office Word 2003 (KB950241)
Update for Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 (KB953432)
Update for Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 Junk Email Filter (KB953465)

What I have tried:
1. Tried to find answers in MS KB and newsgroups. Nothing really fit my issue exactly because most had an error code or reason that didn't apply.
2. Tried a "clean boot" to install, shutting down services to minimum. No help.
3. Tried downloading the updates indvidually and installing them manually. No help.
4. Tried re-registering .dll files as recommended in some other responses. No help.

Computer: Compaq Presario F755US notebook. 160gb hard drive (38gb available), 2gb ram, Turion64X2 processor.

I would appreciate some help.

We will first need to know what operating system your computer is running.  For example:
XP Home, XP Pro, Vista Basic, Vista Premium, etc...

Also what firewall and antivirus program(s) you are running.

The question ended up being listed twice. I tried to kill this one but you were too fast!

Additionally, could you please answer the following questions?
#1 - Is your computer's main language English?
#2 - Have you done a System Restore or other Recovery recently?
#3 - Have you recently upgraded your operating system?

You can also gather some info for us.  This article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/902093
explains about the Windows Update Log.  We are looking for errors.

To summarize the article:
1.      Click Start, and then click Run.
2.      In the Open box, type %windir%\windowsupdate.log, and then click OK.

This should open the file in Notepad (or another text editor). You can either save a copy (Save As) to your Desktop and attach the file to this forum so we can read it.  OR....you can do your own search for these terms: FATAL and WARNING.  Post these entries here for us to give us the specific error codes.

Answers:
1. Yes, language is English.
2. No recovery or restore done.
3. XP SP3 was installed a few weeks ago. The only problem it cause was that windows updates would not install. I found a KB fix and applied it, re-registering the update dll file. OS updates install fine.
