yes..i can ping the server. very strange problem , can't find more solution from the event viewer and dns log.. btw, is running on windows 2000 server

btw, i have just resolve the problem by removing and adding back the service. thanks

I have a Windows domain controller which has DNS services running for many years. Recently the resolving of hostnames from the machines has failed on me.<br />
<br />
I have ensure the services is running, but whenever i run a nslookup it says time out and then it fallover to my secondary dns.<br />
<br />
Any ideas what is the problem and how to troubleshoot?<br />

Hi there,

I have ensure the services is running, but whenever i run a nslookup it says time out and then it fallover to my secondary dns.
