Virtual Server Problem

Hi,

I have a problem with my virtual sever 2005 , I have created a test domain and  a member server on that i have deployed exchange 2003 (testing) this all i have done on my laptop (intel core due 2.4 Hz + 4 GB ram), it is working fine in office (where we have our own domain) when i am logging with my domain user name & password, but the virtual server is not getting started when i am trying to open that at home where my dsl ip address is different then the office ip address (where i cannt connect to my office domain),

I would like to know is there anything i can do so that it should open at home as well so that i can test things after going home as well,

Thank..

Is it possible you installed the virtual machine in the domain from your office and you have no connection to the domain while at home?

Try to have the virtual machine running at office and disable the network connection of your laptop to simulate the case where you have no connection to the company domain.
Use TCPView to check the connections your virtual machine tries to have and get the SYN_SENT status.

Might be a start.

hi,

Yes i checked trying to disconnecting the network and checking, as soon as i disabled the network the connection to the virtual machine was disconnected from the internet explore ,

then i installed TCPView: local address: mylaptop full name (test.local.com :4589)
remote address:  mylaptop full name (test.local.com :5900) (it 's a TCP connection)

I think i have to do some setting so that it should not look for my domain but not sure what exactly,

Thanks.

Try running the TCPView on the virtual machine when you disable the network on your notebook.

As soon as i disconnect the network connection the browser becomes blank and as to work offline and after that the connection to the virtual machine is lost.

So running TCPView on the virtual machine is not possible after disabling the network.

If your virtual machine runs locally on your notebook, it must be possible to access it.

What software are you using to have the virtual machines? (VMWare, MS Virtual PC etc.)
