asked on

crystal reports conditional parameter entry

Is it possible to have the anwer to a parameter cause another parameter to occur? The first parameter would as the user if they wanted records with Today Date, Last Week, Last Month or Custom Date. If they select Custom Date, they would be prompted for a date range.

Thanks.

Thanks. I didn't think it was possible but wanted to make sure.

I do agree that that type of functionality would be nice have.  I can think of alot of parameter functionality that would make Crystal better if they would build it into the tool.

It is possible on  CR2008.

CR2008 introduces conditional parameters.

CR 2008 does allow for conditional parameters, but that means that you don't have to provide a value to the parameter.  You still see all the parameters.

Crystal Reports

Crystal Reports is a business intelligence application from SAP SE. It is used to graphically design data connections and report layouts from a wide range of data sources including Excel spreadsheets, Oracle, SQL Server databases and Access databases, BusinessObjects Enterprise business views, and local file-system information. Report designers can place fields from these sources on the report design surface, and can also deploy them in custom formulas (using either BASIC or Crystal's own syntax), which are then placed on the design surface. Crystal Reports also supports subreports, graphing, and a limited amount of GIS functionality.
