The computer account must be there. Have you tried using ADUC's &quot;Find&quot; feature to search the entire directory for the name of the PC? It is possible it is not in the OU(s) where you are expecting it. By default computers are placed into the &quot;Computers&quot; OU directly beneath the domain container.<br />

Also, do the obvious and make sure the actual computer name on the PC is the name you are searching for!<br />

I did do the obvious and use the find feature from the entire directory down, and it's not there. &nbsp;I'm not a beginner, I've joined hundreds of computers to AD. &nbsp;And yes, I'm triple checked the computer name.

I did give you some troubleshooting tips, and the computer account must have been there if the domain was working correctly, it was just a case of finding it. You asked if disjoining and rejoining would work - I suggested this, meaning I expected it to work.

I actually disjoined and rejoined the domain prior to seeing your post, as the computer was rebooting etc, so I didn't see or need your solution. &nbsp;And you are mistaken in claiming that the computer account was in AD. &nbsp;I was able to join the domain without error, and able to login without error and my login script mapped all my drives without error. &nbsp;I checked event viewer on the PC, and there was an error about the computer account not being able to be located in the domain, so I rejoined the domain...before I read your post.

In that case, I apologise. However, I still feel some points should be awarded for working on the question and providing a valid answer, even though you came up with that solution. If you had posted back and said that fixed it before I posted my comment on the same method, then that would be a fair reason to PAQ it with points refunded. In this case, I feel it is different, though.<br />

Now I cannot find the new computer account in AD, however the new XP system is able to log in and my logon scripts run. &nbsp;Do I need to disjoin and rejoin the domain in order for the new computer object to appear in AD?
