Getting pop up windows for authentication

I came in today and all of a sudden, IE is prompting me with pop up windows for authenticating to websites.  I'll put in my username adn password in the textboxes of the actual website (such as signing onto a bank or Comcast email site) and then get a Windows dialog box that pops up asking me to sign onto the server (such as mail.comcast.net) with my username adn password again.  I'll enter the correct information on the pop up window but will get rejected regardless.  Tried setting the securty settings in IE back to default but that hasn't seemed to work.

OS is Vista Business SP1 and browser is IE 7.0.6001.18000.  I also have Firefox on my workstation and have found it doesn't happen in Firefox.

Do you have system restore enabled?  I would just restore your system a couple days back to see if that fixes it.  You could give resetting internet explorer settings a shot if that does not work.  (or you could do it first if you don't want to restore for whatever reason)
