Demote and Promote server 2003

Hi,

Please provide a detailed instructions on how to promote a new domain controller to replace the old DC.
I need to demote the old DC that is running server 2003 and need to promote a new DC that is running server 2003. Please provide the instructions in steps. This will be my first time demoting and promoting the DC server. Thank You

Under the properties of the LAN card, confirm 'Client For Microsoft Networks' is ticked & enabled

This was unticked on the pc that I had the problem with, once this was done the pc added to the domain without any problems.
