We get the same result if we omit the domain name

We went into the properties of ip protocall v6 and found that it was set to obtain an ip address automaticlly and dns was set to :.1 &nbsp;- when we set the dns to automatic everything worked.<br />

We are trying to join a pc with xp on it to a windows 2008 server. &nbsp;We keep receiving the following message: login failure or unknown user or password when joining a domain.<br />

We get the popup box asking for user name and password. &nbsp;We are entering domainName\administrator and the correct admin password.<br />
