Aix 5.3 Hardware requirements and Sysinformation

I'm still pretty new to the Aix world and have the following questions for everyone. What are the hardware requirements for Aix 5.3 and how do you find your current system information on a Aix box. I'm looking for a command that will give you the similar type of informatino as the msinfo32 commands does in windows.
Unix OS

If you are looking for more detailed information, you may also use some of the "ls*" commands like:
   lscfg  (or lscfg -v)
lsdev -Cc  (use disk, processor, if, adapterfor )

lscfg -vp # system info
Basically IBM's pages do share requirements. They are not related to amount of RAM or disk space - they describe supported microcode levels.

I have an additional question my current Rs6000 is an IBM Rs6000 44P 7044-170 w/ a 333Mhz processor. This was bought refurshed about 2 years ago. I'm sorry for the stupid questoins as I stated before I'm new to IBM Rs6000 servers we are currently running Aix 5.1 and since we have to upgrade management would like to upgrade the hardware a little bit to slightly newer hardware that's all. Please advise..

You got three replacement models...

I do not know what is bottleneck that maks you upgrade. You have to research in your system - if it uses swap - more ram needed, if it uses 100% cpu often - more brainpower needed, if disks are >50% full more are needed...

Either replacement will add some improvement, make sure it is in place it is most needed.

Unix OS

Unix is a multitasking, multi-user computer operating system originally developed in 1969 at Bell Labs. Today, it is a modern OS with many commercial flavors and licensees, including FreeBSD, Hewlett-Packard’s UX, IBM AIX and Apple Mac OS-X. Apart from its command-line interface, most UNIX variations support the standardized X Window System for GUIs, with the exception of the Mac OS, which uses a proprietary system.
