Multiple Connections to a server running VMWare Workstation

We have a group that is using VMWare workstation on a Windows Server 2003 box. They currently use Remote Desktop to get into VMWare but now they need more people using it simultaneously than the two permitted by Windows via RDP. I tried using VMWare Console to get them connected but it did not work as it is not VMWare Server that they are using.

Is there something that they can use or should they port their VMs to VMWare Server and use VMWare Console?

That is what I was trying to avoid.

It depends on what the reason was to use VmWare workstation in the first place. VmWare server should be no problem if you don't need the extra features of workstation.

If the main reason for using VmWare is to have the user's desktops centralized, I'd suggest migrating to VmWare Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, as this is what that product is built for. You then wouldn't need a hosting win2k3 server, as it runs on ESX server.

Ok, that works, but in the end, there is no equivalent tool to allow multiple connections like VMWare Server's Console. Am I correct on that?
This is the best money I have ever spent. I cannot not tell you how many times these folks have saved my bacon. I learn so much from the contributors.

Yes, at least not for VmWare. I don't know about others like Xen, they probably have their own console.

How easy is it to go from an VM made in Workstation to run it on VMWare server then?
rindi

I've never used workstation, but I should think all you need to do is start the existing VM's from within VmWare Server. There will probably just be some enhanced functions missing that were present in workstation, like better USB support etc.

Thank you for the comments. In the end, we did up the terminal services licenses so that others could use it, but I was able to play around with it so as to get a feel for most of the possible solutions presented. Thank you again.
