Error when attempting to access internal Web site through RWW

I have users that need to access our Sharepoint site through RWW. They are able to connect to RWW but when the click on "Use my company's internal Web site" The server returns the following message: "The website declined to show this webpage". I have attempt numerous recommended fixes but to no avail. Remote web access is https://207.177.121.5/remote. I am triying to find the default page for RWW but can only find the one that appears when you access it internally. Any help would be apprecieated.

Ok.  2 things we need to check:

1. When you ran the "connect to the internet" (CEICW.exe) from the Server Management console did you select Companyweb to be accessible externally?  If not, re-run the wizard and make sure it is selected.

2. To access the internal web site through RWW you need to open up port 444 on your firewall.  Even though companyweb uses port 80 internally it uses port 444 for external access.

On CEICW I  have the following items checked. Outlook web Access, Remote web workplace, Outlook via the internet, Winows Sharepoing Services intranet site. Allow access to the entire Web Site from the internet is not sellected. I don't see an option for Companyweb to be accessible externally.

Port 444 is open on the firewall.

Sorry, thats what i meant.  Sounds like you have done everything right.

Looks like you have a configuration issue with IIS.  When I try and connect to https://207.177.121.5:444 it brings up "Directory Listing Denied".  Have you changed any settings in IIS or installed any programs which use IIS recently?
I've tried so many solutions. That involved IIS that I'm not sure what's right anymore. I've been working on this for 4 and a half days non-stop. I get Website declined when attempt to connect to https://207.177.121.5:444. Where should i go from here.

Does the site work from inside the LAN using http://companyweb? That at least proves if the site is working or not and we can decide if it in IIS problem, or a routing or permissions problem.
This may seem extreme but as you have spent so much time on it already it may be your only solution.

The site internally says you are not authorized to view this page.  The actual sharepoint site internally is http://ccrr-harlan/default.aspx. At one point companyweb was working routing to this site but now is not. I know it must be something with IIS as that is the only thing all the fixes I tried dealt with IIS.
I neglected to mention that we are using Sharepoint 3.0.
-Are you getting a not authorized or page not found error? The latter is normal, unless someone has modified the default install.
-In the DNS management console is there an alias record for company web?
-If you open the IIS management console and click on "web sites" do all show as running in the right hand window?
-Again in IIS if you right click on the web site in the right hand window (as above) and choose properties | directory security | IP address restrictions -Edit | are there any unusually denied options selected?
ps- does http://ccrr-harlan/ result in a page of any sort? (from LAN)

When attempting to access the page I get, "The website declined to show this webpage"
In DNS the companyweb alias is in forward look up with data field "ccrr-harlan.local"
In IIS all web sites show as running. I'm thinking its in the IIS. Here are the web sites
Default Web Site - port 8088, SSL-443
SharePoint 80 - port 80, SSL-none
Microsoft SharePoint Administration - port 8313, SSL-none
WSUS Administration - port 8530, SSL-8531
SharePoint Central Administration - port-17026, SSL-none
companyweb - port-80, SSL-444.
Any ideas
WayneWilliams new what he was talking about. This is the answer I needed. I'm going to reinstall WSS 2.0 then reinstall 3.0 side-by-side and hope to proceed from there. The link was exactly what I was looking for.
THANKS LOADS!!
