asked on

Setting boot.ini of the exchange servers /3GB /USERVA=3030 with more than 1gb of memory

We set the Boot.ini to have -  /3GB /USERVA=3030

Ran BPA and looked and our Front End Servers do not have this setting and it does not see this as an issue.

Should this be set on the Exchange FE servers also ?

Thanks,
David

Thanks ... I do see where its supported in that article with our Windows Standard 2003 and Exchange Standard 2003 ... Of note it that looks like the /PAE is not supported and we do have it on a couple of servers with 6gb memory.

Yes we are headed that way early next year.  We are looking to get consistent on the exchange servers for our custom settings.      Based on what I read in the article you pointed me to and that BPA does not flag the Front End servers will leave it off.

On the one Server with 6gb of physizal memory we were asked to add
/BURNMEMORY=2048   and it also has  /PAE .......  My question is if I were to remove the /PAE I probably could remove the /BURNMEMORY too. ?

Lots of info  thank YOU !      I see how complicated this can be on x86    Microsoft Tech Support had us add tne /BURNMEMORY=2048    ....

May be one of those if its not broke don't fix it things  ..... Since this server is working good.
