Change the Konsole cursor appearance

How to change the cursor appearance to either underscore or vertical beam in KDE's Konsole?

BTW, I am using KDE 3.5.8 and Konsole 1.6.6

You can only do "Blinking cursor" in KDE3's Konsole. To do it : "Settings -> Configure Console" Then; at the "General" Tab, choose "Blinking Cursor". Underscore or vertical beam cursors only available with KDE4's Konsole. Otherwise, you can change the color schema via "Settings -> Configure Console". Then at the "Schema" you can choose (Don't forget to thick  "Set as default schema") whatever schema you desired.

Thanks for the information.

I like to switch to the KDE'4 Konsole. However, upgrading the whole KDE seems to be a lot of work. Is there a way to just upgrade the Konsole?
It's really easy to upgrade via package manager of the distribution. Which Linux Distribution are you using ?
