Certain sites not viewable in Internet Explorer yet are fine in Firefox. Any suggestions why?

I am trying to access www.guitarmasterclass.net through Internet Explorer but it comes up with the 'page cannot be displayed error'. It works behind a proxy in IE and it works through Firefox. I was just wondering why this wouldn't work in Internet Explorer as it has been working fine until today. I haven't updated anything. Any ideas why?

Have you tried clearing your temporary internet files and performing an "IPCONFIG /FLUSHDNS" at the command line? You could have some corrupt files in your cache.

ASKER

I had already tried both yet to no success. My firewall settings seem to be fine (ZoneAlarm Security Suite) and nothing shows up on a virus scan. No sites are blocked using my IE settings either.

You might try temporarily disabling ZASS to see if that fixes your issue.  If it does, make sure you're running the latest version...could be some incompatibility with IE that a later version will fix.

Yes, in addition to disabling your ZoneAlarm program try the following at a command prompt:
NETSH WINSOCK RESET
Sometimes sockets with remote sites don't close properly and it can give you problems later on.

There could be an issue with the web site you are trying to connect to.
I have had a problem with a commercial web site working OK with Firefox but not with Internet Explorer, they have had a developer working on it for quite a while now.
We had to install Firefox on a number of machines as a temporary measure.

Web browsers are applications used primarily to display documents, files and media from the Internet, identified by a Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) that can be a page, image, video or other file. Some browsers require the use of add-ons or extensions to safely render the information they receive; others have systems built into them to perform the same functions.
