Configuring iPhone 2.0 with Exchange 2003 ActiveSync

I have a user who just purchased an iPhone 2.0 and he wants me to configure it to use ActiveSync with Exchange 2003.  Could you give me instructions on how to do this?  I have other mobile devices using ActiveSync without any problems.  I have one Exchange 2003 server.

I am on Exchange 2003 Server SP2.  I also have that document from Apple.  I am looking for instructions from someone who has successfully deployed an iPhone 2.0.

I have been trying to get an iPhone to connect to our Exchange server for 3 weeks, with no success.
I have read and memorized the Deployment guide, which is no help. I have recently installed an SSL certificate on our Exchange server without any problems. Our Exchange server is v6.5 w/SP2 installed. When I try to validate the user account on the iPhone I receive the message "Unable to Verify Certificate"...The certificate for account username@domainname.com could not be verified. I would appreciate any assistance. If I turn SSL OFF, I receive the dialog box "Cannot Send Mail" An error occurred while delivering this message.
