asked on

Reduce Page Size?

I have a PDF doc that I create from the clipboard (screen copy). It turns out to be about 11.5 X 7.5, and so I cant even print it landscape (I dont have legal size) as I lose some of it. How can I change the size of this page in Acrobat Pro 8? Or is there away to scale it so that it will print the whole doc on one page?

why don't you just use scale to best fit when you open the print dialogue window?
oneOone is right, use the options on the print dialog to scale your image. If that is not sufficient, you can use 3rd party tools to convert the page size (Quite Imposing would be one option), or, if you don't mind ending up with a lower quality PDF file,  you could try to print to the Adobe PDF printer and select the output size so that it matches your desired page size. This should however be your last resort, because it basically destroys your PDF document and recreates is based on the information in the PostScript print stream (there are a lot of things in PDF that cannot be expressed in the PostScript created by the printer driver).

When I go to the Print dialog, in scaling I have "fit to printable area". But in the Preview Composite it shows the length as 11.69, but the page size is Letter. So I don't know why it shows this or how to get it to show a page size of 11" for the length.

the reason why the length is 11.69 is because you set the default paper size in your printer as a A4, if you need letter size.. .which is 11.. then at the dialogue window you need to change the paper size inside the printer properties.  Hit the properties button beside the printer name.  The next window that pops up varies depending on the driver of the printer.

In the Properties on Printer it does say "Letter"
What kind of printer are you using?
