Most PC Case manufacturer's don't follow any color codes, except, if your lucky red is usually + and black - or ground, but don't take that for granted. Usually the plastic connectors have + and - signs on them though. If not, you'll just have to try by error. You can't break anything by not connecting things properly, except maybe USB ports, but those are always marked with +,- and signal etc, and usually the connectors can't be attached the wrong way round.

you have the correct pin alignment in your motherboard manual and written on the board itself. if you can attach a picture with the board and the cables i can tell you how to attach them.

I am sorry but should have mentioned earlier that I did check the manual and it does have a clear diagram. What is a bit confusing is the polarity of the wires used:<br />

PIN 1: HD+<br />
PIN 3: HD- <br />
PIN 6: PW+<br />
PIN 8: PW- (so far so good)<br />
PIN 5: RES- (?)<br />
PIN 7: RES+ (?)<br />

The reset switch configuration as shown in the diagram is confusing. Should this not be reversed in polarity, or does it not matter if reversed?<br />
<br />
I hope I have been able to pinpoint the real issue.<br />
