You say you are able to ping the routes at location one if you reboot the router? Then does it go away. If that is the case it sounds like a neighbor issue. What routing protocol are you using. If you are using EIGRP and one interface is a T1 and the other is larger then a T1 this can cause a problem as your hello timers will not match. <br />
If you do a &quot;show ip interface&quot; on both routers you need to make sure that your hello timers are the same on both sides.<br />
The default behavior of a T1 link is a hello timer on a low bandwidth link (T1 or slower) is 60 seconds but the default on a fast link is 5 seconds. If the neighbor does not receive a hello with 3X the hello time it will drop the neighbor and any routes that it has it.<br />
The reason why it boots up and works for a while is that the first hello goes out and the neighbor is created. <br />

it works after the boot for days then after that and from some remote computer I am unable to ping it. if I change the IP address of the remote computer or if I reboot the router, then I am able to ping. Also not that I can always ping the router nighbor IP and the router IP address of the interface that is connected to the modem. &nbsp;

I have a problem with my Cisco router in location1 that I cannot ping the router internal IP or any IP in the location1 unless I change the IP of the computer that I am pinging from or I restart the router in location1. Also I can ping the external IP of the router in location1 and any other routers in another location.

I have a problem with my Cisco router in location1 that I cannot ping the router internal IP or any IP in the location1 unless I change the IP of the computer that I am pinging from or I restart the router in location1. I Cannot Ping the Router from Remote Site?
