The -nohome switch will start IE without loading any pages. &nbsp;The tab says &quot;Connecting&quot; but it isn't really connecting to anything.

Thanks TWBit. &nbsp;The first suggestion of &quot;C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe&quot; -nohome didn't work as nothing happened when I clicked the shortcut. &nbsp;This one is exactly what I was looking for.

Glad it work. &nbsp;For the -nohome switch, nothing is supposed to happen, it just starts IE with no home page(s) loading. &nbsp;But you can specify a page to load instead of the home page(s), which is what the about:blank does (or substitue your 'single' home page like <a href="http://www.google.com" rel="ugc">http://www.google.com</a>)

I use IE 7 on Windows Vista Business and Ultimate versions. &nbsp;I typically have IE configured to open with 5 or 6 default tabs. &nbsp;There are occasions, such as when I am on a slow internet connection, that I want to launch IE with only one tab open, either the first in my list or with a blank page. &nbsp;Is there a way to do this as a one time, single instance launch without changing the configured tabs?
