ADM files for IE7 Group Policy

hi guys,

we recently upgraded all our machines to IE7 due to some changes on our intranet system, however now some users are experiencing problems with tabbed browsing settings. I thought i could change them through group policy but no settings were there. I saw on the ms site that they had an ADM file for IE7 as an MSI file. I was unable to find any instructions as to how to proceed. anyway i installed the msi file and ran though the setup but when i try and change or modify the GPO i created before it doesnt show any of the new options like tabbed browsing. Am i missing something.

I downloaded this ADM file:

The MSI setup should place the ADM files to %SystemRoot%\Inf.
If you  installed the MSI on the computer you're edititing your policy with, just add them in Policy Editor by right-clicking "Administrative Templates" -> "Add/Remove templates...".

Something went wrong when you added the inetres.adm template. this is how my group policy editor looks afterwards.

Looks good. I can't understand why you are unable to see the Internet Explorer folder under Windows Components. Any error messages when you added the inetres.adm?

no error messages im afrad.

Install the IE7 MSI to an XP workstation and open gpedit.msc afterwarts. Add the inetres.adm and try to create a local policy, just to see if its working there...
