Old, decomisioned servers still coming up for offline files, shared printers etc.

Hello:

This has been driving me nuts. We have a medium size domain with all windows servers 2003 (some new 2008's as well). About 6-7 months ago we did a complete makeover on our systems; new servers, racks, the works. I wasn't part of that team that did the changeover, but they were all experienced engineers and did a good job. The only thing is that now, even when we take a computer out of the box, load it up and join it to the domain, its looking for old servers. i.e Cannot sync offline file's to "old server name".

Same thing with printers just showing up from old servers that were sharing them.  These old servers were dcpromo / disjoined from the domain and scrapped. I've dug through dns/wins, AD, GP and can't find where this is coming from. Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks for your quick response.

Printers are not mapped via scripts or anything. People add whatever printers they want.

I looked awhile ago in gpresult, and nothing out of the ordinary. everything shows up as it should with the DC's and dns servers.
