Does this happen all of the time of is it random? How much memory do you have in your computer? Have you tried to change the resolution on both monitors to see if you get the same results? Have you tried to change the refresh rate on the monitors higher or lower to see if the issue still exists?<br />
<br />
If this is happening when you have a lot of programs open or when a lot of memory is being utilized this is usually the issue. <br />
<br />
Give some of thoses suggestions a shot and see what the out come is. <br />

I have 2Gb of Mem. &nbsp;I have tried different resolutions. &nbsp;I can force this to happen every time by dragging a window across both monitors back and forth quickly, but it happens on its own a lot just dragging from one screen to another. &nbsp;I did try alainbryden's suggestion of Not showing window contents while dragging and that fixes the caused by dragging across displays. &nbsp;I think I still have some sort of display issue that is unresolved, because I am running AVG Network edition on my machine and periodically I will get notification popups from my tray icon that just shows a black box, no message and it will not go away until I drag a window across it causing that portion of my display to refresh. &nbsp;I will sometimes get a messagebox in the center of my screen that does not display the message, it would just look blank. &nbsp;I think there is something going on with my screen refreshing. &nbsp;Any other suggestions????? &nbsp;

Try disabling all driver enhancements<br />

Any computer will have sketchy graphics for a while when windows are dragged back across other windows. This is a characteristic of application responsiveness more often than graphics card issues. A good way to test it is to open up Notepad full screen on both monitors. Notepad has no contents so it has a quick refresh function. If you drag a window repeatedly back and forth across these and do not see the same problem, then it has nothing to do with your graphics driver, it's the configuration of the programs like windows explorer in the background that are causing the problem. This is a frequent occurrence especially if you've configured appearance and performance settings, downloaded any graphical enhancement software, or done environment &quot;tweaks&quot;.<br />

Ok... I know it may sound crazy, but try this:<br />

Right-click your desktop to get to properties, select Settings, then Advanced.<br />
<br />
Select Troubleshooting.<br />
<br />
Turn OFF your hardware acceleration. On most newer systems, it is not needed due to the faster CPU and video memory. It can actually cause problems in some applications and functions. If things are better when it is turned completely off, then you can try adjusting it up a bit at a time if you wish.<br />

Well I tried Notepad on both monitors and drug a window across the two and the problem still occurred. &nbsp;I also turned off hardware acceleration and the problem was still there. &nbsp;I just don't understand because I have setup numerous machines with 2-3 monitors, and none have had this kind of problem. &nbsp;Mine has been the only one. &nbsp;I will use the workaround of not showing window content while dragging, but I would like to find out what is causing this problem, because I believe that this should not be a problem in the first place. &nbsp;Any other suggestions on this???

Well I'm glad the workaround will work for you.<br />

I would go into hardware and either rollback your video driver or remove it completely and restart - allowing windows to reinstall and reconfigure it.<br />

Control Panel &gt;&nbsp;System &gt;&nbsp;Hardware &gt;&nbsp;Device Manager &gt;&nbsp;Display Adapters<br />
<br />
Right click anything that appears under display adapters. If update does nothing, then click uninstall for both of them (or clicking uninstall for one might remove both). After both are uninstalled, restart the computer, and give it another try.

I have a Dell Optiplex 170L that is running an Radeon 9250 video card and dual 19in monitors(1280x1024). &nbsp;I have had an issue when dragging windows across the 2 monitors where my video is all messed up. &nbsp;The only way I can get my window to display correctly is to minimize it and then reopen it. &nbsp;I don't think it is the video card, because I have tried a nvidia card in the past with the same results. &nbsp;Does anyone have any suggestions??????<br />

Video problem when dragging across screens.
