Sorry, I'm using symantec server. &nbsp;I don't think that's the problem as its run fine for years now with it. &nbsp;any other ideas?<br />

thanks for the two links, however neither of those apply to the issue at hand. &nbsp;The database is fine and has been tested by the remaining clients that can connect. &nbsp;The ones that can't aren't having page faults, or missing dll issues.

The page fault errors sometimes occur in the way you describe, so worth testing.<br />

Do you know if anything changed when it started to fail?<br />

Is there an error at the time in the Windows Event Log that might have more info?<br />

started in safe mode. &nbsp;it actually connects to the database and shows a page with populated fields. &nbsp;then it goes to a blank screen and hangs. &nbsp;It may have eventually gone through, but after 5min, I rebooted to return the machine to the user.

Especially when you did a reinstall - did you uninstall first and delete all file in &quot;c:\Program Files\ACT&quot; before doing the reinstall?<br />

Failing that, can you try it when you start XP in Safe Mode? This will show if it's a driver on the systems or the application itself.

sorry, I was going off of employee verification on the layouts... I checked myself. &nbsp;<br />

on working macines, they are being loaded locally. &nbsp;on non working machines, you can't check as you have to load a database to get to the edit-preferences menu.<br />

event log didn't show anything new on safemode. &nbsp;As I said before, it actually goes into a database, populates a page, then goes blank (the going blank might be a buggy system). <br />

The fact that it actually populates a field makes me curious.
